Announcement: Registration for the ICMR-SHINE National Level Competition 2026 is now open. Schools may register through their designated nodal officer using the school’s 11-character UDISE code, and the nodal officer then uploads each student’s entry through the portal. Open to students of Grades 9 to 12 in government, government-aided and private schools across India, with no entry fee. Nominations and submissions close on 11 September 2026, and results will be announced on 17 November 2026.

How a Lab Day is structured

The visit opens with a welcome and orientation, followed by Storytelling Through Science — short student-friendly videos, presentations and posters on ICMR’s work, from COVID-19 testing and Covaxin to drone-based health delivery and TB research.

A Hands-on Exploration phase follows, with guided lab tours, exhibitions and a scientist Q&A, before the day closes with participation certificates for every student.
